My key broke off in the ignition for my van.
I had to have it drilled out.
But….
I got my picture taken with Wil Wheaton (and he threw up the horns)
We move into our temporary house this Wednesday
The insurance company called to wake me up… to let me know that my laptop is indeed covered and that I should go out and buy a brand new one. He will be sending much more money to my father today.
Is this where I start looking up?

Couldn’t sleep very well last night.
I thought I heard on the TV this morning that Hilary Clinton dropped out of the race.
I’m going to be spending the next five days at the old house. The rest of my family has to work. I’m glad I got the time off from work.
I need to catalog everything that is not salvageable for the insurance company. And then throw everything away. So after I finish the ground floor, I need to contact Waste Management and get a dumpster dropped off. While I’m working on the second floor, someone else can work on throwing things on the ground floor away.
But I want to try and get it done in the next 5 days. 5 very long days.

wow you are sick!!
the part that makes it really bad is you lost some replaceable technology? wake the hell up- you lost some CATS, didn’t you? THAT is what is tragic. you seriously make me so disgusted.
—
I just lost my entire life. I have no house. Do you? I have the clothes on my back. I have a laptop with a cracked screen that I can barely read. I lost 7 years of digital photos and 21 years of hard copy photos. I have no video games. no dishes. no silverware. no food. no bedding.
But I am also a musician. I have no recording gear. I have one guitar. No protools setup anymore. No keyboards. No mixers. Sure. These are all replaceable. but it took me 10 years to aquire all of it. And thousands of dollars. My big screen television is gone. My dvds and player. And I am most destroyed over my cat. I lost my cat. I cried all day yesterday for this cat. A cat I have had since his birth in 95. I also rescued 6 of my mothers cats.
Can you live without your computer? Can you live without internet access? Can you live without a mailbox? The Post Office is holding all my mail until I can go in and give them a real address. My house has to come down. I could be living in hotels for the next six months. I have NOTHING you coward. Why don’t you come out of your fucking annonymous hiding place and tell me who you are? Let everyone who actually feels a little sympathy know how much of an inconsiderate jackass you are.
Or better yet…. why don’t you just move out of your house with only a backpack. And never look back. and you can’t have ANYTHING from your house. Try that.
I lost a cat. That is absolutely irreplaceable. And I would rather that no one even try and replace him. But if you want to help me replace my other things, well… you know how to do that.

I had a dream last night that my house was ok. It didn’t burn down, but I was still staying at a hotel for some reason.
Then I woke up.
And my four articles of clothing managed to fill the hotel room with their crushing scent. I still wreak of smoke and charred wood. Maybe I will try and buy some clothes today. The hotel is right behind a K-mart.
I’ve already started crying. I think there might be a lot of that today.

I know a lot of you want to help. I really appreciate that. I’ve lost nearly everything.
But this is a chance for me to start anew. New furniture. New dishware. New everything. The part that makes it really hard to live, is that both of my computers are gone. And all of my recording hardware. My macmini, and my brand new never turned on pc are gone. those are the things that I need replaced. My digital life has been deleted.
Please help me rebuild it.
The red cross is taking care of my clothes and food. And first night at this hotel. But all I’m concerned about is rebuilding my music.
I was days away from finishing the vocals for my album. That;s been delayed. I was a few days from going to Boston. Postponed.
I do get to go to Duran Duran tomorrow. I’m very excited.

The best of the three. By far. This is Rami’s Jedi. Pulling together parts from all three movies, it puts the close on the franchise. Not to say that they won’t make another one, but everything from the first two movies has been resolved. I was very satisfied with the story and the ending.
It was interesting to see Toby MacGuire play a dick. Even for just a short time. I believe him to be an under-rated actor. Kirsten Dunst’s role in this was the best in all three. Although personally I have had it up to “here” with the love triangle business… the script for SM3 didn’t focus on it the way SM2 did. Much happier.
Elfman pulled off another marvelous score. I think the work he did on Hulk really helped his ability. The music he writes now still carries the sound of Elfman, but it’s not predictable. A lot of the pre Hulk soundtracks all had the same feel. Beetleguese, Batman, Pee-Wee etc. This is a whole new Elfman… and pappa does have a brand new bag.
Speaking of Batman. At this point nearly every DC and Marvel comic has been optioned and franchised and beaten to death. And unfortunately, Much like Batman… as we progress in sequels, Somehow we are no longer amazed with single villains. Batman Returns had Penguin Cat Woman, and Christopher Walken. Then there was Riddler, Two Face, Mr Freeze… I’m blending the last two I’m sure… but the increase of villains weakens my interest. The Joker. The Green Goblin. They entertained us for an entire movie. Then we needed Goblin Jr, and Doc Oc. Now we need Sandman, Venom, Goblin Jr, Black Spidey…. It’s too much. Let’s go back to the days of Lex Luthor. One villain. Three Movies. Works for me.
Speaking of Sandman. Holy Fuck! Those are the most amazing sand effects I have ever seen. The Best Effects in the movie. From Flint Marko’s infusion in the particle accelerator and learning how to control, to his final farewell at the end of the movie. Crap. Those kept me wanting to see more and more. Now. That’s not to say all the effects were great. I’m glad Rami didn’t do any signature montage’s, or sped up camera speeds to point out the rushed feeling of a fight scene. That’s was a silent blessing. Signatures like that get old as the franchise continues. And his career. I don’t know if I saw his car in there though… but Bruce Campbell as the maitre’ d was perfect.
That being said, I was severely disappointed with the flying scenes. I did not feel like I was flying. And when Goblin Jr was chasing spidey through the incredibly narrow alley… the scene although visually appealing seemed to go on for too long. There were good CG moments, Obstacles overcome with web-slinging. Street fixtures used for control and maneuverability. But I feel that they were lacking in making me feel like I was actually flying with Spiderman as I had in the first two movies.
But the ending came as a wonderful surprise. And I felt the closure necessary even if things may not have worked out for all the characters.

Katie and I saw Shutter last night.
It really wasn’t a horrible movie. In fact, I would only change one thing. The male lead. He was awful. AWFUL.
Anyhow, as we were doing our post movie review over coffee, she has mentioned that a friend of hers watched a movie a day for a year and got caught up with all the movies she was supposed to see. I thought to myself (and then out loud) that this would be an awesome thing to blog. And then of course, at the end of the year… review and recap. would be kinda cool to have.
So starting April 1st, I am going to blog one movie a day for a year. It will be interesting to see where my taste in film runs, and how my writing style will change. Not to mention, just seeing if I can handle it and keep it going for an entire year. Watch out for the new MOVIES section for all the film reviews. Coming in April.
